Commensurate with experience and determined annually by the School Committee Exempt Full Time- 12 months Works under the supervision of the Director of Finance, Operations and Administration, the Human Resource Coordinator provides oversight and coordination of recruitment and employment (including equal employment opportunity). Responsible for the oversight and administration of all employee benefits, either mandated by contractual agreements or regulatory. The Human Resources Coordinator handles employee recordkeeping and reporting, plus the creation and maintenance of Human Resources standard operating procedures. This position also assists with employee relations and labor relations when needed. It develops training as well as performance management, employee events and human resource policy development with execution. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintenance of human resources office standard operating procedures and administration of human resources policies; Administration of paid-time-off plans, workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, and leaves of absence, including but not limited to FMLA; Responsible for managing and coordinating the district's workers' compensation safety committee program to ensure quarterly goals are met. Manage recruitment, job postings, onboarding, and placement of new employees. Manage employee separation process; Organize and maintain human resource records and information systems, including paper and electronic records; Create and submit as needed, human resource reports, including employee benefit, safety, and equal employment opportunity reports; Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, including discrimination or harassment complaints and policy interpretation questions, and, as needed, assists the Superintendent in the investigation of such complaints or questions; Assures compliance with applicable human resource and employment laws and regulations, along with being a point of contact for Access to Public Records requests. Administer and assist in the development of employee events, training and development programs, wellness programs, employee recognition, and employee relations programs; Setup/Maintain employment records in MUNIS; Review and maintain Job Description Catalog, Substitute Handbook, Employee Handbook;Maintenance of Frontline System:
Absence management and Frontline Central Title IX Coordinator Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Administration or Superintendent Desired Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Human Resources or Human Resource certification or related degree preferred. Minimum of three years' experience in Human Resources role. Experience in the public sector and in a unionized environment. Experience should include recruitment and hiring, compensation and benefits, human resource information systems, legal understanding, and employee relations. Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and practices. Working knowledge of municipal, state and Federal laws affecting personnel management, payroll/compensation and employee benefits. Knowledge of Rhode Island and federal retention procedures and applicable laws. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Google Workspace and human resource information systems, such as Aspen, Aesop, Munis or similar enterprise software products or applications. Independent judgment and initiative in planning and organizing human resource functions in compliance with policies and protocols, and state, Federal and local laws. A strong work ethic and commitment. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, constituents, and the general public. Ability to define problems, retrieve data and establish facts then draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions. Tools & Equipment Used The individual should be familiar with the operation of standard office equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, and spreadsheet and word processing software.
