Position Summary Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant performs administrative and technical duties related to the functional area of the HR Department, which may include recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluations, and benefits administration. Position Responsibilities
- Receives, and reviews for completeness, employment applications and other human resources forms.
- Conducts initial screening on paper and on-line applications, ensuring minimum qualifications are met
- Forwards qualified candidates to respective hiring managers for feedback
- Tracks referral data on each applicant to identify source of applicant
- Ensures that all on-line applicants complete a paper application if not yet completed
- Manages files on all applicants, both contacted and no selected and those not contacted
- Extends verbal offers to all selected candidates
- Coordinates and manages onboarding process for all prospective new hires, including orientation, background testing, reference checking, etc.
- Communicates with prospective new hires regarding orientation and documentation requirements
- Completes necessary checks through respective vendors (SLED, DSS, OIG, FBI) Ensures that results are back in a timely manner, follows up when necessary
- Completes a minimum of two (2) reference checks on each prospective employee. Ensures that results are back in a timely manner, follows up when necessary.
- Updates and manages Employee Status Report detailing new hires by orientation date
- Conducts, along with the HR Staff, orientation program for new hires which details all new hire paperwork, policies, safety compensation, leave, etc. Reviews and ensures completeness of all required forms
- Enters all new hire information in various systems
- Responsible for I9s and eVerify to ensure all new hires are eligible to work in the Unites States
- Processes all status changes, ensuring proper signatures, timeliness, etc.
- Creates new hire folders
- Processes all requests for employment verification for current or previous employees
- Handles day to day employee relations issues and questions regarding internal applications, time off, leave of absence, personnel changes, etc.
- Processes all terminations
- Back up for Turnover Report.
- Will also serve as
Front Desk Attendant:
answer the main line and route phone calls accordingly, greet visitors, respond to inquiries and give directions and handle other duties as assigned. Other
- Serves as back up for other roles within HR as necessary
- Assists in the management of conflict resolution issues as necessary

- High School Diploma and three or more years of related Human Resources administration experience.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use MS Office Suite.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
- Capability of effective planning and priority setting.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
- Excellent communication and organization skills. Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations related to Human Resources
- SHRM, HRCI and/or CBP certification
