GENERAL SUMMARY
The Human Resource Intern performs administrative tasks and provides detail-oriented support to the Human Resources Department.

Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: Scans, digitizes, and organizes physical HR files and documents into the electronic records system. Verifies scanned documents for legibility and completeness, re-scanning or flagging as needed. Labels and categorizes scanned files according to established naming conventions and retention policies. Responds to general HR inquiries and directs employees to appropriate resources. Conducts research on HR best practices and compile findings for the team. Supports compliance efforts by organizing and filing documentation accurately Supports new hire on boarding by preparing paperwork and orientation materials as needed. Coordinates and schedules interviews between candidates and hiring managers as needed.

: Performs related tasks as required. Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
: Knowledge of standard office and administrative practices and procedures including business letter writing, records management, report preparation, and filing methods. Knowledge of correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications. Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: Currently enrolled in a college or university program; preferred areas of study include Human Resources Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field. or any combination of education, training, and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential job functions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
: Work takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. On a continuous basis, sits at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen. Uses telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
