Job Description

MUST BE 17 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND/OR A HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE STUDENT.
The City of Wylie has opportunities available for a Summer Intern in our Human Resources department. The selected intern will provide support to the department as requested and will also perform various duties related to assigned department. Supervision is provided by the Human Resources Director. Assists staff in collecting and preparing data for various projects. Conducts fieldwork, collects parcel data, and searches records as requested. Prepares reports of limited or variable complexity. Assists staff at community meetings. Conducts basic office functions, such as data entry, file management, and customer service. Operates a motor vehicle in carrying out the business of the department and the City, as required for the assigned department. Performs as a responsible steward of the public trust and strives for excellence in public service, enhancing the quality of life for all. Acts in a civil, respectful manner at all times to management, co-workers and others. Other duties as may be assigned. Must be 17 years of age or older. High School Diploma or equivalent if over 17 years of age. Candidates must possess an interest in the designated profession and relevant specializations and be enrolled or recently graduated from a related college program. Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses as outlined by Emergency Management after hire.
