Job Description

MHI Ship Repair & Services is a major marine repair and conversion contractor serving the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, Maritime Administration and Commercial ship owners and operators worldwide. Our shipyard is conveniently located in the Mid-Atlantic region at the port of Hampton Roads, Norfolk Virginia.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs administrative tasks such as maintaining access list, processing all badge requests for MHI, assisting in the development of quarterly security training, preparing reports for CGA, and tracking security clearance expiration dates. May assist in the duties of Facility Security Officer in the absence of the Security Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs a combination of the following duties according to specific department guidelines: New Hire process Obtain proof of citizenship Perform "Uncleared Employee" security brief Create and issue MHI employee badge Maintain vessel access lists for MHI and Sub-Contractors accounting for all active jobs. Submit visit requests to other locations/vessels where MHI employees may need access. Process all badge requests to include employee badges, subcontractor's badges, government representatives, and vessel-crew access cards. Record and file insurance certificates for MHI and Sub-Contractors Submit reports to GCA as needed. Track security clearance expiration dates. Process all employee CAC card requests Process and maintain all Camera Pass requests Maintain parking pass database
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain MHI's DBIDS program to include: Processing all DBIDS badge holders Submit DBIDS waivers (when necessary) Assist in the development and implementation of quarterly security training. Perform functions in DISS (Defense Information Security System) including: Submitting classified visit requests Performing account manager administrative functions regarding Personnel/Facility Security Clearance maintenance Assist in the duties of Facility Security Officer in the absence of Facility and Security Manager. Assist facilitating building and property maintenance (i.e. building repairs, property maintenance, maintenance and repair requests) Maintain facilities database to include asset tracking and maintenance schedules. Conduct security related investigations. (i.e. theft, damage to property, personnel security, etc.) and report status to Facility and Security Manager. Assist conducting pre and post arrival security briefings for all in plant availabilities. Maintain personal training and certifications as required. Maintain successful working relationships with government agencies and security offices of current customers as needed. Assist in the preparation for and completion of self-inspections to ensure government compliance as directed by the Facility and Security Manager. May perform other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of administrative experience. Security experience preferred but not required. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft operating systems to include word processing, spreadsheet programs and e-mail. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to use discretion and good judgment in handling confidential information. Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Must be a US Citizen. MHI Ship Repair & Services offers competitive wages and an excellent benefit package.
