HR COORDINATOR
The HR Coordinator provides administrative and operational support in the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department, including recruitment coordination, onboarding administration, HR records management, benefits support, and HR compliance tracking. This position is expected to work approximately 25 hours per week during regular business hours.
Supervision:
Reports directly to the Sr.
HR Director Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain HR calendars, tracking logs, and departmental records related to onboarding, benefits, compliance deadlines, training, and performance review processes. Process employee changes within the HRIS system, including new hires, status changes, terminations, and other personnel updates. Respond to routine HR and benefits inquiries and escalate more complex employee relations matters to the Sr. HR Director as appropriate. Manage the Applicant Tracking System to streamline candidate tracking. Coordinates recruitment activities, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Administer the onboarding process for new employees, including completing paperwork and coordinating new hire orientation with Sr. HR Director and hiring managers. Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Coordinate offboarding tasks and process termination paperwork. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation in the HR platform, including personal information, employment contracts, benefit enrollments, and performance evaluations. Complete Forms I-9, verify documentation, and ensure compliance with I-9 requirements. Coordinate with the Finance department to support benefits enrollment process and accurate payroll processing. Supports HR compliance efforts by maintaining required documentation, tracking deadlines, and assisting with policy administration. Keep employment posters and notices current to meet legal requirements. Assist with worker's compensation documentation and claim tracking. Manage Leave Administration and serve as a resource for all areas of leave including strong familiarity with FLMA. Provide administrative support to the Sr. HR Director and assist with special HR projects and initiatives as assigned. Manages Workplace injuries and works with Safety team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and maintain positive working relationships. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective time management skills with ability to meet deadlines. Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Familiarity with HRIS and talent management systems, or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. One to three years of administrative or HR support experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
