General Description:
Responsible for performing essential functions to support schools and facilities by resolving complex employee relations issues. Essential Job Functions:
Leads investigations of employee relations issues and produces cogent reports; provides support in a variety of other employee relations situations Plans sequence of investigations, conducts interviews utilizing neutral, fact-finding techniques Communicates outcomes of investigations as necessary Proposes refinements to standard operating procedures for investigations as needed May coordinate with CCPS safety and security, law enforcement, and Child Protective Services as necessary May conduct, coordinate or review employee investigations related to allegations of harassment and discrimination Participates in the management of matters related to EEOC complaints in coordination with supervisors and legal counsel Works with administrators and employees in the identification and resolution of personnel issues and complaints; review recommendations for employee disciplinary actions, including suspension, demotions, promotions and terminations. May assist in the development and implementation of training materials to inform and educate employees and supervisors Collaborates with supervisors and legal counsel to resolve complex labor relations matters Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws and school board policies Performs other related duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management and employment law to include EEOC, ADA, and employee relations management. Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Strong analytical skills and preference for detail. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.
Additional Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience in a human resources environment in a professional, licensed, or administrative capacity.
Preferred:
Master's Degree, or human resources certification (e.g.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP
). Collective Bargaining experience and Investigative training and certification. Valid VA Driver's License. This position requires the incumbent to drive.
