We are proud to operate the Terminal at Paine Field Airport in Everett, WA, providing a world-class travel experience with a small-town feel and convenience. With new technology and modern conveniences, we make flying into and out of Paine Field a simple, enjoyable and streamlined travel experience. We are seeking a hands-on HR professional to oversee and manage all day-to-day human resources functions for a growing company of approximately 30-35 employees. This role serves as the primary internal HR contact and works closely with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to ensure effective administration of payroll, benefits, compliance, leave management, and employee relations. The ideal candidate is experienced in employee relations, compliance, investigations, performance management, recruiting, and operational HR administration. This individual will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees while helping standardize and improve HR processes across the organization. This is a highly collaborative role requiring discretion, professionalism, strong judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Everett, Washington Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Performance Management Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters and day-to-day HR support. Advise and support managers on employee performance, attendance, accountability, workplace expectations, and employee conduct matters. Conduct and document workplace investigations and provide guidance on appropriate resolution and corrective action. Lead and support progressive discipline processes, including coaching, written warnings, corrective action documentation, and separation support. Participate in employee meetings involving coaching, performance concerns, disciplinary action, and terminations. Coordinate and administer employee performance review processes and support performance improvement planning and employee development initiatives. Promote consistency, fairness, and compliance in HR practices, policies, and employment decisions. HR Operations & Compliance Partner with the company's PEO regarding payroll, benefits administration, compliance, leave management, and HR best practices. Ensure accuracy of payroll-related changes, including compensation updates, transfers, status changes, and terminations. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Washington State labor regulations. Manage unemployment claims, workers' compensation, and L&I administration. Coordinate leave of absence administration, includingFMLA, PFML, ADA
accommodations, and related documentation. Administer wage garnishments, employment verifications, and other employment-related documentation. Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and HR documentation. Standardize HR processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and consistency. Maintain personnel records and HR files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Maintain and manage HRIS/user accounts, employee data, system settings, and reporting functions. Recruiting, Onboarding & Offboarding Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job descriptions, job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer coordination. Coordinate onboarding processes, new hire documentation, orientation, and employee integration activities. Oversee offboarding procedures, including exit processes, final documentation, and separation coordination. Employee Engagement, Development & Operational Support Partner with department leaders to support training initiatives, workforce planning, and operational needs. Assist with employee scheduling and workforce coordination as needed. Manage airport badging administration, renewals, tracking, and compliance requirements. Oversee uniform inventory and employee distribution processes. Support leadership with organizational planning, staffing needs, and employee communications. Plan and coordinate company events, meetings, recognition programs, and team-building activities to support employee engagement and organizational culture. Design and administer employee recognition initiatives that celebrate contributions and promote retention and morale. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee, operational, and company information at all times. Other duties as assignedSkills, Knowledge and Expertise:
5+ years of progressive HR experience preferred, supporting a small to mid-sized business environment Strong knowledge of Washington State employment laws and HR compliance requirements. Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and performance management Knowledge of leave administration, workers' compensation/L&I, and payroll coordination Experience managing full-cycle recruitment, benefits administration, compensation structures, and employee development programs. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems Detail-oriented, with strong negotiation and documentation abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization. Deep knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and equitable workplace strategies. Strategic thinking and problem-solving in dynamic, people-centered environments. Proven expertise in employee relations, including conflict resolution and sensitive investigations. Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred PHR, SHRM, or similar HR certification preferred. Experience in operational, transportation, logistics, aviation, or service-based environments is a plus. Applicants with a high school diploma and a strong combination of relevant experience will also be considered. Other Requirements Successfully passing a Federal Criminal Background Investigation as required for obtaining a SIDA badge. Subject to pre-employment, random, and post incident drug screenings. Must have a flexible availability to accommodate varying work schedules. Some weekends, evenings and special events are required throughout the year. Work Environment May be required to work during emergency situations where additional staffing is necessary. Ability to adapt and perform the job outside, with weather conditions of heat, cold, dampness, rain, snow, and loud noises. Capable of walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. Exhibit physical strength and the ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, up to 15 lb.
