Human Resources Coordinator 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars Join the Leader in Asphalt & Concrete Restoration - HR Generalist Opportunity With over 45 years of industry experience, AA Asphalting has established itself as the Pacific Northwest's premier asphalt and concrete restoration provider, serving communities across Washington and Oregon. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service to public utilities, government agencies, contractors, and private businesses. We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to join our team. This position will provide administrative support to the HR team by assisting with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR functions. Key Responsibilities Leads the onboarding process for new hires, providing a welcoming and informative introduction to the organization. Coordinates with internal teams to schedule and facilitate all onboarding components, including Safety Orientation, Field Tours, and Flagger training. Reviews and updates onboarding materials to reflect changes in policies, benefits, and organizational information. Enters and maintains new hire data within the HRIS and provides employee support regarding system access and functionality. Responds to applicant and employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and hiring procedures. Advises employees on healthcare and retirement benefit plans, facilitates benefit program orientations, and effectively communicates with employees to address questions, provide guidance, and ensure understanding of available options and compliance requirements. Creates, maintains, and audits accurate personnel files, Driver Qualification files, and other required records and documentation. Enters and updates employee information in HRIS system and generates reports as needed. Administers employee referral and sign-on bonus programs in accordance with company policy. Provides recruitment support through candidate interviews, background checks, employment verifications, participation in job fairs, and maintenance of the applicant tracking system. Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll and timekeeping discrepancies. Assists with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources and Safety departments. Maintains working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and reporting requirements impacting Human Resources functions. Performs administrative tasks including answering phones, greeting visitors, and providing support to other departments within the organization. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related degree; or 2+ year's related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using a Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Ability to learn and understand applicable local, state and federal regulations. Strong attention to detail, highly organized and able to manage competing priorities. Positive attitude with excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Customer service mindset with the ability to provide responsive and professional support to employees and applicants. Ability to protect confidential information. Advanced knowledge of
