Job Description

Position Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides operational and administrative support to the HR function across a growing, multi-entity land construction organization with 200+ employees. This role focuses on employee records management, equipment tracking, compliance support, workers' compensation coordination, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and operational processes. The position serves as a key support partner to HR leadership and acts as a backup resource for core HR functions as needed. Key Responsibilities HR Administration & Employee Support Maintain accurate employee records across multiple business entities, ensuring compliance and consistency Assist with employee status changes, onboarding paperwork, terminations, and offboarding documentation Serve as a point of contact for general employee inquiries and provide support with HR related documentation Equipment & Asset Coordination Issue company equipment (e.g., phones, tablets, PPE, tools) to employees and maintain tracking logs Monitor equipment assignments, returns, and replacements across field and office staff Coordinate equipment recovery and documentation during employee separation Compliance & Documentation Ensure completion and accuracy of employee paperwork (I-9s, W-4s, certifications, licenses, etc.) Assist with maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment regulations Support implementation and tracking of HR policies and procedures across entities Assist in internal audits and documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency Workers' Compensation & Safety Support Report and call in workers' compensation claims in a timely manner Coordinate with insurance carriers, supervisors, and employees regarding claims and required documentation Maintain records related to incidents, claims, and return-to-work status Support safety and compliance documentation efforts specific to construction operations Financial & Invoice Support Assist with auditing invoices for accuracy, including benefit-related or HR/vendor invoices Coordinate with accounting and vendors to resolve discrepancies as needed General HR Support Provide backup support for HR functions such as onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll coordination Assist with HR reporting and tracking metrics as requested Support HR projects and initiatives during periods of growth or transition Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned Qualifications Education & Experience 1-3 years of HR Experience, administrative or operations support, Business Administration, or related field preferred Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities across various business entities Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience with HRIS systems and recordkeeping preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
