Job Description

About Us William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital is a 200-bed acute psychiatric care facility owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by CMS, our hospital provides a wide range of services to civilly and judicially committed patients. In collaboration with West Virginia University's Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, our dedicated medical and clinical professionals work diligently to help patients achieve a smooth transition back to the community. The Role We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support our HR Director and ensure our facility runs smoothly. In this role, you will be the backbone of our daily HR operations, handling everything from payroll preparation and timekeeping administration to leave tracking and employee relations. If you have a passion for HR administration and supporting healthcare professionals, we want you on our team! Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate, confidential human resources records for all facility staff. Process standard HR transactions, including resignations, retirements, and dismissals. Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll by entering work hours, status changes, and new hire data. Administer the Kronos timekeeping system, including enrolling new hires, mapping supervisor access, educating staff, and providing pay stub assistance. Track and manage various employee leave types, including FMLA, LOA, PLOA, Worker's Compensation, and Donated Leave programs. Monitor ADA work restrictions and maintain all necessary backup documentation. Review Employee Incident Reports and conduct timely follow-ups with employees and their supervisors. Perform other related duties and administrative tasks as assigned by the Human Resources Director. #
INDLP Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
No prior experience required with a qualifying degree.
Substitution:
Additional education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis (or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart).
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience utilizing WV Oasis and/or Kronos timekeeping software is highly preferred.
Important Conditions of Employment Schedule Flexibility:
Position may require occasional overtime and some weekend work to ensure agency/bureau policies are met.
Background Check:
Applicants selected for employment must successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
Drug Screening:
A pre-employment drug screening (including chemical urinalysis and breath analysis) is required. All employees are subject to probable-cause drug testing per agency policies.
