JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator and Instructor, Electrical Workforce at Laramie County Community College is a full-time, benefited position responsible for leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of electrical workforce training programs across Albany and Laramie counties, with a primary emphasis on non-credit and industry-aligned training. This role serves as both an instructor and program builder, with responsibility for coordinating regional electrical training initiatives and standing up a new electrical apprenticeship program aligned with industry and state requirements, while also supporting select credit-based electrical instruction as needed. This position designs and delivers high-quality training in both open-enrollment and customized formats, utilizing industry-aligned curriculum, electrical code standards, and hands-on applied learning to meet the evolving needs of individuals, employers, and community partners. The coordinator works closely with industry stakeholders and internal academic teams to develop relevant curriculum, expand training offerings, and ensure alignment between non-credit, apprenticeship, and credit-bearing pathways. Responsibilities include instruction across a range of electrical competencies such as electrical theory, troubleshooting, safety practices, and code compliance, while also leading the development of structured training pathways that support entry into the electrical trade, progression within apprenticeship programs, and advancement for incumbent workers. A significant focus of this role is the successful launch and ongoing coordination of a Registered Apprenticeship program, including curriculum development, employer engagement, scheduling, and program oversight. The Electrical Workforce Coordinator demonstrates a strong commitment to learner success by fostering an inclusive, hands-on, and safety-focused training environment; collaborating with internal teams and external partners; and continuously refining programming based on industry feedback and workforce trends. Ongoing professional development and trade-specific upskilling are expected to ensure training remains aligned with current technologies, codes, and best practices in the electrical field.

Teaching and Learning:
Employs student-centered instruction coupled with the development and use of appropriate and current educational materials. Competency-Based Design:
Applies competency-based design to the development of curriculum, engaging with colleagues at the course, program, and institutional level with the aim of continuous improvement. Evaluates student engagement and success through formative and summative assessment. Develops supplemental curriculum by articulating measurable, student-centered learning outcomes, and using competency-based design strategy to maintain curriculum that is current, effective, and relevant to the designated discipline. Contributes to curricula by assisting in design, implementation, and review aligned with current or emerging community, state, or national needs. Participates in continuous improvement of student learning and success by gathering data, analyzing data, engaging with peers and internal and external stakeholders, and implementing change as a result.
Program Logistics, Scheduling, and Operational Support:
Supports the daily operational functions of the Career & Technical Workforce Department by coordinating all logistical components necessary for successful program delivery relevant to the Electrical training programs. Responsibilities include managing classroom and lab scheduling, submitting space requests, arranging room setups, preparing instructional materials, and ensuring equipment and tools are available and ready for use. The coordinator facilitates timely communication with instructors regarding schedules, program expectations, and curriculum needs. Expected outcomes in this area include: Accurate scheduling and coordination of all open-enrollment, apprenticeship, and customized training offerings, ensuring facilities, equipment, and materials are prepared in advance. Smooth, efficient program execution supported by proactive logistics planning and problem-solving. Clear, consistent communication with instructors, staff, and partners to ensure alignment of course requirements and readiness. Compliance with internal processes for space reservations, equipment use, and resource management.
Student, Customer, and Instructor Support:
Serves as a primary point of contact for learners, employers, and community partners, providing high-quality customer service and continuous communication throughout the lifecycle of each program. This includes responding to inquiries, supporting onboarding and enrollment, maintaining communication plans, and assisting with participant materials, attendance, and credential documentation. Expected outcomes in this area include: Professional, timely, and accurate communication with students, employers, and stakeholders that enhances customer experience and strengthens program reputation. Effective support for instructors, including preparation of class rosters, materials, evaluations, and instructional resources. Positive participant feedback regarding clarity of communication, organization, and overall experience.
Data Collection, Tracking, and Reporting:
Collects, organizes, and maintains all program-related data, including enrollments, attendance, credential completion, instructor hours, and evaluation results. Works closely with departmental leadership to ensure accurate, timely reporting for institutional, grant-funded, and compliance-related purposes. Expected outcomes in this area include: Accurate and up-to-date tracking of enrollments, completions, evaluations, and learning outcomes for all Electrical programs. Support for continuous improvement efforts through analysis of participant feedback and program performance trends. Reliable, organized documentation required for audits, grant reporting, credential alignment, and institutional planning.
Program Coordination and Internal/External Collaboration:
Supports outreach, engagement, and coordination efforts with internal campus partners, community organizations, employers, and instructional staff. Assists with promoting upcoming programs, preparing materials for industry partners, and coordinating logistics for advisory activities or outreach events. Expected outcomes in this area include: Strong collaboration with instructors, workforce staff, employer partners, and community stakeholders. Effective coordination of program-related communications and materials to increase awareness and participation. Support for departmental initiatives that enhance visibility, responsiveness, and program quality. Other responsibilities may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor An employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments.

Minimum Qualifications :
Journeyman Electrician license in a recognized jurisdiction, with the ability to obtain Wyoming licensure if not currently held. Five years of professional experience in the electrical trade, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential, commercial, and/or industrial electrical systems. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and safe work practices, including interpretation and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Strong understanding of workplace safety standards, including OSHA regulations, electrical safe work practices, and hazard recognition.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master Electrician license. Experience supporting or working within a Registered Apprenticeship program (electrical or related trade). Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience with apprentices, technicians, or adult learners in classroom, lab, or field settings. Experience developing curriculum, training materials, or customized workforce training programs. Familiarity with industry-recognized training frameworks such as NCCER, apprenticeship standards, or competency-based education models. Experience delivering electrical safety training (e.g., NFPA 70E, arc flash, lockout/tagout, or similar). Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Technology, Industrial Systems, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
