Non-exemptGENERAL FUNCTIONS
The Human Resources (HR) Director will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs to support the organization's growth from 35 to 150 employees over the next 12 months. This role includes overseeing recruitment, employee relations, training and development, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management. The HR Director will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting the organization's mission.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Strategy & Compliance:
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Create and maintain an employee handbook outlining policies, expectations, and benefits. Ensure all HR practices align with nonprofit regulations and best practices.Recruitment & Integrating:
Develop and execute a hiring strategy to accommodate organizational growth. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and offer negotiations. Oversee integrating and orientation programs to ensure new employees are successfully integrated into the organization.Employee Relations & Workplace Culture:
Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and workplace conflict resolution. Promote a culture of inclusivity, engagement, and professional growth. Develop and oversee employee recognition programs and morale-boosting initiatives.Training & Development:
Implement employee education campaigns on policies for Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook. Develop and facilitate training programs to enhance employee skills and leadership development. Support managers in performance evaluations and professional development planning.HR Administration & Benefits Management:
Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Utilize BambooHR for integrating, recordkeeping, and document management. Develop a document repository on SharePoint for HR policies and procedures.Safety & Compliance:
Establish and maintain workplace safety programs in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Maintain confidential employee records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Responsible for maintaining agency risk management plan.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification. Experience in a nonprofit environment or social service organization. Background in training and development program implementation.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of HR management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or growing organization. Strong knowledge of employment laws and best practices. Experience with HR software (e.g., BambooHR) and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to HR challenges.SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
