 $63,085.98 The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Heritage and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks manages 52 state parks and promotes Arkansas as a tourist destination for people around the country. Arkansas Heritage preserves and promotes Arkansas's natural and cultural history and heritage through four historic museums and four cultural preservation agencies. Arkansas Tourism improves the state's economy by generating travel and enhancing the image of the state.

$63,086 - $93,367Job Summary The HR Supervisor/Expert oversees specific HR functions and serves as a subject matter expert in areas such as employee relations, benefits, recruitment, and performance management. This role involves supervising HR staff, providing guidance and training, and ensuring compliance with state HR policies. The HR Supervisor/Expert is an essential resource for HR teams and provides specialized knowledge on complex HR issues.

Primary Responsibilities The assignment of supervisory duties is determined by the hiring agency's operational needs. Non-supervisory roles will serve as senior technical experts. Supervise and mentor HR staff to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with HR policies. Provide expert-level guidance on complex employee relations matters, including grievances and performance issues. Review and ensure compliance with recruitment, compensation, and benefits policies. Develop and implement HR procedures and practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Provide training to HR staff and other state employees on HR processes and best practices. Serve as a liaison between HR teams and other departments to ensure HR policies are understood and followed.

Knowledge and Skills Expert knowledge of HR principles, laws, and practices. In-depth knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and compensation structures. Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Expertise in analyzing HR data and trends. Ability to lead HR teams and resolve complex HR issues. Ability to stay current with changes in HR law and regulations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive informationMinimum Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is preferred. At least five years of professional experience in human resources or a related field.
