About the Position This role is new for DSI and is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to have exposure to a wide variety of experiences and growth of the human resources team. The Human Resources Generalist/Manager reports to the Director of Human Resources and General Counsel and is responsible for a variety of human resources functions including employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, recruiting support, onboarding, wage and hour compliance, leave of absence management, benefit enrollment and other administrative tasks for 300-500 employees. Location and Travel This is an on-site position that will report to our office in Diamond Bar, California. Area travel will be required for regular branch visits, trainings and investigations in Northern California. Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this position is $100,000 - $110,000 per year. This position is also eligible for the following benefits: Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401k retirement plan with match 1 week of paid vacation leave 2 weeks of paid time off (PTO) Paid holidays Company-provided cellphone Vehicle allowance Essential Position Responsibilities Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and supervisors. Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, employee relations and policy interpretation. Lead investigations involving harassment, discrimination, misconduct and policy concerns and partner with leadership on resolutions. Advise on disciplinary action, corrective action and termination of employment. Maintain strong knowledge of California employment laws and other Western-state requirements and monitor wage and hour compliance. Oversee leave of absence administration (i.e. Workers' Compensation, FMLA/CFRA, etc.), including documentation and follow-up. Support the Area Recruiter with hiring and onboarding, while ensuring a positive candidate experience. Provide training to supervisors on compliance, HR processes and DSI policies and ensure tracking requirements are met. Maintain accurate HR documentation, employee records and reporting. Collaborate strategically with HR leadership on retention, workforce planning, HR structure and culture initiatives and recommend improvements. Required Qualifications At least 3 years of human resources experience in a company of at least 100 employees is required. Good working knowledge of California employment and wage and hour laws and the ability to interpret them is required. Experience conducting workplace investigations, documentation and making recommendations for resolution. Experience managing the leave of absence process. Strong understanding of HR functions, including recruitment and employee relations. Ability to explain employment laws and policies to all employees in a way that is easily understandable. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity and the ability to keep information confidential. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. Flexibility to support occasional after-hours or weekend urgent HR needs. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Northern California laws. SHRM-CP or PHR. Experience in the security industry and BSIS regulations. Multi-state experience. Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Why Join Us?
