Job Description
The HR Manager oversees all employee relations functions for Operations, Support, and Advance Planning Divisions. This role leads a team of HR professionals who provide guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions up to and including separations, and other employee related activities as required. What You'll Be Doing Directly supervise and mentor Employee Relations Specialists in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Lead the full life cycle management of Human Resources direct reports, including interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; managing performance addressing employee concerns and resolving workplace issues. Provide guidance and oversee employee investigations, disciplinary actions, sensitive employee matters, and terminations. Provide coaching and guidance to leadership on performance management, documentation, and workplace conflict resolution of employee related issues. Develop and implement proactive employee relations strategies to improve engagement and reduce risks. Participate in the development of employee surveys, and/or data gatherings and report-backs. Oversee, and when necessary, conduct investigations involving harassment claims, discrimination complaints, retaliation complaints, and policy violations. Participate and create reports for Pre-Discharge Reviews, Grievance Hearings, and Termination Appeals. Oversee tracking of personnel transactions in UKG or related HCM system, such as new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and separations. Maintains a strong understanding of recruitment practices and employment related compliance matters, offering oversight and guidance to ensure hiring practices follow employment laws, organizational policies, and fair and consistent employment practices. Assist the Learning and Development Specialist to deliver aspects of the Introduction to Forest Lawn Leadership segments, including separations, promotions, and performance review, safety, unions, and sexual harassment prevention. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Regularly seek guidance and maintain consistent communication with upper management and Executive Offices. Regularly visit other departments and park locations. Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Assist with Wage & Salary surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates. Approve vacation/paid absence requests and expense statements of direct reports. Provide directions for the proper handling of personnel documents during the annual File Clean Up day for employee relations files. Ensure compliance with Labor law postings, I-9 processing for all employees. Assist with mandatory AB1825 Employee Harassment Prevention training and mandatory programs. Track and analyze employee relations trends such as turnover, corrective action, and separation reasons.
