Job Description
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Pacific Charter Institute ("PCI"), the Director of Human Resources ("HR") will plan, organize, and direct the staffing, transfers and assignments of certificated and classified personnel and provide overall management of the human resource functions for the organization. This position will oversee legal compliance and complaint procedures and processes. The Director of HR oversees a team that manages recruiting, new hire onboarding, employee relations and negotiations, performance management and talent development. The Director of Human Resources will collaborate closely with other PCI leadership to ensure organization-wide progress towards objectives. Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):- Creates and supports an environment in the HR team to provide excellent customer services to all internal and external clients by developing positive relationships with PCI personnel, applicants, external organization's representatives and other stakeholders.
- Monitor certificated and classified job descriptions.
- Determine the placement of staff on applicable salary schedule.
- Assist certificated employees with credential applications; ensure employees possess appropriate and valid credentials pertinent to their assignments.
- Assist with interpretation of survey data and turn it into information which can offer ways to improve operations.
- Oversee the assignment, monitoring and compliance with all mandatory training required for all employees, including TB requirements, auto usage, and other requirements to stay in compliance with new legislation.
- Develops recruiting strategies and processes including screening, selection, processing and placement of employees.
- Monitors and oversees all workers' compensation and unemployment claims; provides relevant information to all sites and staff.
- Oversees implementation and compliance will all required workplace safety programs, policies (i.e. Comprehensive Safety Plan, Illness and Injury Prevention Plan, Workplace Violence Prevention Plan) and drills.
- Oversees a variety of employee programs from initial employment to separation.
- Responsible for oversight of all HR technology systems including, but not limited to, the HRIS and payroll systems.
- Responsible for oversight of time off usage, including paid and unpaid leaves following all state, federal and PCI policies.
- Oversee staff retention and recognition initiatives and work with leadership to support overall PCI goals and mission.
- Maintain compliance with policies and requirements as directed and appropriate for PCI, including ensuring that all required notices are posted at all sites and distributed to staff, if appropriate.
- Provides and assists Executive Director with research as requested and/or required to ensure compliance and best practices for the organization.
- Attend training and conferences as it relates to the needs of the organization to support growth in the position objectives and professional development.
- Performs other related duties as assigned that support the position and department's overall objective.
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
- Any combination of education and formal training equivalent to: Master's degree and five years of progressive Human Resource experience in combined areas of employee relations, staffing and recruitment and management consultation.
- Able to travel with reliable transportation to various locations to accomplish objectives of this role
- Must complete all required mandatory training for school employees.
Pay:
$154,502.00- $202,136.
