Job Description

Human Resources Director needed for a large-scale property management and community services company in Orange County. Direct Hire position, paying $185,000 - $205,000/yr , depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM , 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Cultural Transformation & Trust Building Organizational Health Assessment:
Regularly diagnose systemic issues such as stagnation or resistance to change within long-tenured teams.
Trust Reconstruction:
Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap to restore HR's reputation as a fair, transparent, and neutral resource.
Implementation:
Design and implement a cultural framework that integrates organizational values and accountability into every stage of the employee lifecycle.
Change Management:
Lead organizational transitions by effectively communicating the "why" behind modernization, moving the workforce forward without alienating staff. 2.
Strategic Leadership & Mediation Senior Leadership Advisory:
Challenge and coach senior leaders on behaviors that impact organizational trust; provide candid, constructive feedback on the health of the workplace.
Master Mediation:
Serve as a neutral expert in high-stakes disputes, internal investigations, and arbitrations, ensuring a "neutral ground" philosophy.
Strategic Partnering:
Collaborate with department heads to define and model a culture of accountability and psychological safety. 3.
Compliance & Risk Management Regulatory Mastery:
Maintain absolute compliance with federal and California labor and employment laws (EEOC, FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, ERISA, COBRA, FLSA).
Legal Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for labor and employment attorneys on all HR-related legal matters.
Safety & Workers' Comp:
Oversee safety programs, risk management initiatives, and the administration of workers' compensation claims to minimize organizational liability. Leave of Absence (LOA)
Management:
Oversee the organization's interactive process with employees and manage the return-to-work model. 4.
Operational HR Administration Recruitment & Retention:
Manage full-cycle recruitment, attracting diverse talent that complements and refreshes existing institutional knowledge.
Compensation & Budgeting:
Execute and forecast the organization-wide remuneration budget, including salary administration and annual reviews. Benefits & 401(k): Administer competitive, compliant employee benefit programs and retirement plans.
Systems Optimization:
Oversee the HRIS environment (specifically maximizing the efficiency of ADP Workforce Now) and conduct audits to ensure strict wage-and-hour compliance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience & Education Tenure:
10+ years of progressive HR management experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior supervisory or director-level role.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or Human Services; MBA or M.S. preferred.
Certification:
Professional HR certification ( PHRca , SPHR , or
SHRM-SCP
) is highly preferred, given the CA regulatory environment.
Core Competencies Culture & OD Specialist:
Proven track record of transforming organizational culture and identifying systemic vs. individual performance issues. High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Exceptional empathy and social awareness to navigate a multi-generational, high-tenure workforce.
Conflict Mastery:
Expert-level skill in mediation, specifically within complex corporate, hospitality, or large-scale residential/property management settings.
Technical Proficiency:
Mastery of ADP Workforce Now and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $185,000.00 - $205,000.00
