This role oversees payroll, benefits, HR systems, compliance, compensation, and organizational frameworks to ensure operational excellence, scalability, and consistency across all locations. This leader drives efficient, compliant, and data-driven processes that enable the business to scale while delivering a seamless employee experience. Partnering closely with senior leadership, finance, and field operations, the Director ensures that HR operations are aligned with business objectives and positioned to support ongoing growth and complexity. Key Responsibilities HR Operations Strategy & Execution Design and execute a scalable HR operations strategy aligned to business growth across multiple brands and locations Build infrastructure that balances standardization with brand-level flexibility Establish and continuously improve processes that drive efficiency, accuracy, and strong employee experience Lead HR operational readiness for new unit openings, acquisitions, and integrations Payroll & Benefits Oversee end-to-end payroll operations ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all jurisdictions Partner with Finance on payroll forecasting, audits, and reporting Lead benefits strategy, vendor management, and administration to ensure competitive, cost-effective offerings Continuously evaluate and optimize total rewards programs to support attraction and retention HR Systems & Data Own HRIS strategy, optimization, and roadmap (including integrations across systems) Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and actionable insights for leadership Drive automation and digital transformation across HR processes Build dashboards and analytics that inform workforce planning and business decisions Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple markets Lead audits, policy development, and risk mitigation strategies Partner with Legal on complex employment matters and regulatory changes Maintain and evolve employee policies and handbooks across brands Compensation & Org Effectiveness Lead annual compensation planning cycles Develop scalable compensation frameworks aligned to market and business strategy Partner with leadership on organizational design, job architecture, and workforce planning Ensure consistency and equity in pay practices across brands and geographies Team Leadership Build, lead, and develop a high-performing HR operations team Create clear accountability, strong execution rhythms, and a culture of ownership Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on operational and workforce matters What Success Looks Like HR operations that run seamlessly, accurately, and efficiently at scale Systems and processes that enable, not slow down, the business Strong compliance posture with minimal risk exposure Clear, consistent compensation and organizational frameworks Leadership confidence in HR data, reporting, and insights A team that is proactive, accountable, and business-oriented Leadership Profile Operationally rigorous but pragmatic Builds structure without overcomplicating Moves with urgency and precision Comfortable in complexity and ambiguity Earns trust quickly across executive and field teams Qualifications 10+ years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise in HR operations Proven experience in multi-unit, multi-brand, or highly distributed environments Strong command of payroll, benefits, HR systems, compliance, and compensation Demonstrated success scaling processes in high-growth or complex organizations Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset Experience leading and developing high-performing teams Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
