Job Description

Overview American Gypsum is seeking a hands-on HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Gypsum, CO manufacturing plant. This role partners directly with plant leadership and employees to drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. This is not a corporate HR role. The HRBP is embedded in operations and plays a critical role in recruiting, employee relations, workforce development, and day-to-day plant support. Key Responsibilities Lead full-cycle recruiting and workforce planning for plant operations Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on employee relations and performance management Partner with operations to improve employee engagement and retention Support and administer training and development programs Provide data-driven insights using HR metrics to support decision-making Ensure timely resolution of employee inquiries and workplace issues Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and employment laws Coordinate leave of absence, FMLA, disability, and return-to-work programs Support payroll processes and oversee Payroll Administrator activities Conduct workforce training on policies, compliance, and leadership initiatives Partner with leadership on succession planning and talent development Lead plant engagement initiatives, events, and community involvement Participate actively in plant safety programs and initiatives What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in operations or industrial environments Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices Experience supporting frontline operations and hourly workforces Ability to influence leaders and build relationships at all levels Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities High level of discretion with confidential information Proficiency in HR systems (UKG preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) Self-starter with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment Work Environment On-site role supporting manufacturing and mining operations Combination of office and presence on the plant floor Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, with off-hours support as needed Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision Health Savings Account (HSA) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Employer-paid life insurance Supplemental life insurance 401(k) Profit Sharing Vacation Pay, Paid Sick Leave, Paid Holidays Employee Assistance Program Legal counsel, mental health services, veteran support line, financial services/consultation, and more! $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
