Job Description

Human Resources Manager
Litchfield, CT Responsibilities Manage day-to-day HR operations across employee relations, benefits, compliance, and policy execution
Update and maintain company policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials
Oversee the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, and organizational changes (including reductions in force)
Lead benefits programs, including annual open enrollment and ongoing employee support
Assist with administration of the 401(k) plan and related employee communications
Advise and support managers on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and investigations
Ensure adherence to collective bargaining agreements, labor regulations, and all applicable federal and state employment laws
Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing across multiple jurisdictions
Own HRIS management and deliver reporting/analytics to support business decisions
Coordinate and support audits (labor, union, benefits, unemployment) and maintain proper documentation
Contribute to broader HR initiatives including compensation, total rewards, employee engagement, and performance programs
Partner with leadership to promote a compliant, consistent, and employee-focused HR environment Qualifications 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Background working in unionized environments and familiarity with labor relations
Strong understanding of multi-state employment laws and compliance requirements
Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems (implementation and/or maintenance)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, etc.) is a plus
