Human Resources Manager

We are a demanding, fast-moving organization serving vulnerable populations across multiple locations with 24/7 operations. Our work supports individuals facing mental health challenges, homelessness, crisis situations, and complex social needs. The environment is not corporate-polished, predictable, or quiet — it is operational, human, urgent, and constantly evolving. We are looking for an experienced HR Manager who can operate effectively in chaos, build structure where needed, hold people accountable, support leadership, and improve the employee experience without losing sight of operational realities. This role is for someone resilient, emotionally intelligent, highly credible, and unafraid of difficult conversations. We do not suffer fools, excuses, or passive HR. We need a hands-on leader who can earn trust on the floor, in the field, and in leadership meetings alike. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day HR operations across multiple sites and around-the-clock programs Handle complex employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment Conduct investigations, corrective actions, coaching conversations, and conflict resolution Serve as a direct and visible HR presence for employees, supervisors, and executive leadership Support managers in performance management, accountability, documentation, and staffing decisions Build systems, improve processes, and bring consistency to a growing organization Help create a culture of resilience, accountability, respect, and operational excellence Navigate high-stress situations calmly and decisively Maintain compliance with employment laws, policies, and organizational standards Partner with leadership to identify organizational gaps and implement practical solutions Assist with recruiting, retention, onboarding, engagement, and workforce planning initiatives Be willing to step into difficult environments and address problems directly Requirements Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience required Significant experience in healthcare, behavioral health, social services, nonprofit, crisis services, shelters, residential programs, or similar high-intensity environments strongly preferred Proven success handling employee relations in complex operational settings Experience supporting multi-site and/or 24-hour operations Strong working knowledge of employment law, investigations, documentation, and compliance Ability to communicate effectively with frontline staff, managers, executives, and external stakeholders Thick skin, strong judgment, and the ability to remain composed under pressure Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented Able to build credibility quickly and drive meaningful improvement Comfortable making difficult decisions and having uncomfortable conversations Must be adaptable, resilient, and genuinely up for a challenge What Success Looks Like Employees trust HR because you are present, fair, and responsive Leaders rely on you because you bring solutions, not drama Processes improve without losing operational flexibility Accountability increases while morale stabilizes Problems get addressed directly and professionally The organization becomes stronger, healthier, and more sustainable because of your work This is not a role for someone seeking a quiet HR office or a highly structured corporate environment. Pay:

$72,000.00 - $78,500.00 per year
