Every therapist, leader, and support team member plays a role in helping children and families thrive, and the Director of Human Resources plays a critical role in supporting the people who make that possible. We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking HR leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving systems, solving complex people challenges, and helping organizations grow through change. This is an opportunity to lead HR in a fast-paced, mission-driven human services environment where no two days are the same. This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on - someone who can lead difficult conversations, support organizational growth, implement systems, and help create a positive and sustainable workplace culture. What You'll Do Lead Human Resources Operations Oversee all areas of HR including employee relations, compliance, payroll, recruiting strategy, HR operations, and workforce planning Partner with executive leadership to support organizational growth and workforce needs Help guide the organization through periods of change while maintaining communication, trust, and team stability Lead and support the HR team in day-to-day operations and priorities Support Employees & Leaders Serve as the lead advisor for complex employee relations matters including investigations, policy interpretation, disciplinary actions, and workplace concerns Help foster a positive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture Improve Systems & Processes Identify opportunities to improve HR systems, workflows, and processes Implement technology, automation, and AI-supported solutions that improve efficiency and employee experience Support HR reporting, workforce data analysis, and operational planning Oversee HR policies, SOPs, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance Help Build & Retain Great Teams Support recruiting and hiring efforts to meet organizational growth goals Develop retention and engagement strategies to strengthen workforce stability Monitor turnover trends and workforce data to help guide decision-making Support leadership development and manager effectiveness across the organization What We're Looking For Strong leadership and relationship-building skills Experience leading HR operations in a fast-paced or high-growth environment Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, investigations, and HR compliance Ability to navigate difficult conversations with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management abilities Experience improving systems, workflows, and operational processes Comfort utilizing HR technology, automation, and AI-supported tools Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on support when needed Experience with UKG Ready or similar HRIS platforms preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field required Minimum of five years of progressive HR leadership experience required Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, human services, or multi-site environments strongly preferred PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or equivalent certification preferred Why Join Children's Autism Center?
