In this role, you'll be a key partner to leadership, helping to build a thriving workplace culture while ensuring our people practices align with our mission and growth. You'll lead all aspects of HR - from talent acquisition to employee engagement - while serving as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership alike. What You'll Do Strategic Leadership & Culture Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals Champion a positive and high-performing workplace culture Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, organizational development, and change management Talent & Employee Experience Lead full-cycle recruitment to attract mission-aligned talent Design and enhance onboarding experiences that set employees up for success Develop engagement and retention initiatives that support employee satisfaction (This role is an opportunity to do more than manage HR - it's a chance to shape the employee experience and help drive a mission that truly matters) Performance & Development Implement and manage performance management systems Create training and professional development programs Identify growth opportunities that align employee goals with organizational needs Compliance & HR Operations Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Maintain and update HR policies and procedures Stay current on HR trends, regulations, and best practices Compensation, Benefits & Administration Oversee compensation and benefits programs to remain competitive Collaborate with brokers to evaluate and manage benefits and insurance plans Support payroll processing through accurate documentation Manage insurance renewals and related administrative processes What You Bring Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field … (or Associate's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience) 2+ years of HR experience (more is welcome - we value depth of experience) Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment preferred HR certification (or willingness to obtain within the first year) Skills & Strengths Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically High emotional intelligence and cultural competency Experience with HR systems (BambooHR is a plus) Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities What Sets You Apart You care deeply about people and organizational culture You're proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented You thrive in environments where you can build, improve, and innovate You're as comfortable in strategy discussions as you are rolling up your sleeves
