The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.

        Financial Information:

Seven years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of human resources experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus four years of human resources experience; OR An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate plus three years of human resources experience.
        EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
        Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.         Job Duties:
        • Supervision, payroll reconciliation, payroll activities, i.e., off-cycles and payments
        • Manage staff, including performing quality assurance reviews and internal controls processes.
        • Manage teacher/educator issues such as leave earnings, contract payouts, leave payouts, and verification for certification applications
        • Performance Evaluation monitoring and maintenance for teachers and educators.
        • Conduct CPM activities for HR staff subordinates and engage in CPM Administrator activities.
        • Workers Comp Administrator, ADA Administrator, Extended Sick Leave Administration
        • Ensure all specialty type leaves and benefits are provided to employees; serve on Committees Position-specific details:

        Work Schedule:
        Typically, work hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
