Full Job Description Full-time Part-time Exempt Nonexempt Mission:

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Chief of Operations, the Human Resources Manager will provide leadership for all activities that relate to the efficient organization of the Human Resources Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes, communicates, and maintains HR policies and procedures. Supervises and evaluates HR staff. Analyzes HR data to support reporting, decision-making, and budgeting. Collaborates with the Head of School and Chief of Operations on strategic planning for staffing and organizational structure. Monitors employee relations issues and personnel concerns; ensures that the Head of School and Chief of Operations are informed of issues. Manages employee recruitment, including job postings, screening, and interviewing prospective employees. Represents the school at job fairs and other recruiting events. Partners with school leaders across campuses to assess staffing needs. Ensures hiring decisions align with approved budgets and pay scales, provides hiring recommendations to leadership as requested. Coordinates background checks and reference checks for all employees. Manages onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, including new hire orientation and exit procedures. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and labor regulations. Ensures compliance with internal policies and HR best practices. Manages employee relations processes, including grievances, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies. Advises employees regarding their rights, responsibilities, benefits use, and school policies. Serves as an advisor to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations and workplace matters, including hiring, onboarding, promotions, leaves of absence, separations, and corrective action. Supports teachers in attaining and maintaining certification. Maintains accurate, secure, and confidential employee records. In collaboration with the Payroll/Benefits Manager, manages the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Prepares and submits required HR reports and workforce data to local, state, and federal agencies. Provides accurate records and data as requested for audits, monitoring, and benefit renewals. Partners with the Benefits/Payroll Manager to ensure timely and accurate completion of all employment-related processes and transactions. Provides support for payroll processing, including serving as a backup to the Payroll/Benefits Manager as needed. Serves as the primary HR liaison with external partners, vendors, and government agencies Works well under pressure and meets deadline while maintaining a positive attitude, strict confidentiality, and providing exemplary service Timely, in person, and regular attendance The International School of Louisiana retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position
Qualifications, Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field of study Five years of experience in HR Management at the supervisory level focusing on staff certification, labor relations, record keeping, and human relations
Preferred:
Master's Degree Human Resources or related field of study and Professional Human Resources Designation (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or
SHRM-SCP
). Requires advanced knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources. Requires knowledge of and skills in personnel records management, recruiting, benefits, compensation, and employee relations. Demonstrates strong professional judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse community of employees. Bilingual in either Spanish or French highly desired Computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Workspace) Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
