Position Overview The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary HR leader for the Northern Area, supporting multiple office locations including Pineville, Marksville, Shreveport, and Monroe. This role reports to the corporate Director of HR Operations and partners closely with local leadership to ensure consistent HR practices, strong employee relations, effective hiring and onboarding, and compliance with employment laws and company standards.
Responsibilities Recruiting & Hiring:
Screen applicants for administrative roles and participate in interviews and candidate selectionOnboarding:
Coordinate onboarding plans and maintain communication with new hiresLeadership & Regional Oversight:
Supervise and support HR Coordinators across assigned offices, ensuring consistency with Central HR standardsWorkforce Management:
Support locations in maintaining effective caregiver hiring practicesEmployee Relations:
Serve as the primary HR contact for employee concerns and workplace issues; guide leaders in handling sensitive employee matters and ensuring issues are investigated, addressed, and documented accordingly; and, elevate issues to Central HR when appropriatePerformance Management:
Support leaders in addressing employee performance concerns, implementing corrective actions as neededLeave Time:
Manage FMLA & medical leave processes in compliance with employment laws and company policiesSafety & Workers' Compensation:
Manage workplace injury reporting, claims, and return-to-work processesEmployee Engagement:
Partner with leadership to support engagement initiatives and recognition efforts Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations Experience supporting multi-site or field-based operations preferred Strong knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, OSHA, etc.) Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Additional Requirements Ability to travel occasionally during business hours within Northern Area (Pineville, Marksville, Shreveport, Monroe) Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation Proficient in Microsoft Office and general HR systems Ability to pass all required background and eligibility checks Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) Company Benefits Full-time administrative employees are paid a full 40 hours per week for working office hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday Get paid whenever you need with wages on-demand via ZayZoon Excellent health plans through BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana Access to low-cost Dental & Vision insurance, as well as Voluntary Life and AD&D, Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness, and Disability policies 401k plan with employer match Paid vacation & sick time Paid time off for your birthday & most major holidays Credit Union benefit with financial wellness education & tools Due to the nature of providing community-based care for people with developmental disabilities, it is necessary that every employee of LHCL must be capable of assisting our clients and LHCL in areas that may be outside the specific elements of this job description.
