Job Summary Artisan Chef Manufacturing is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead all aspects of human resources strategy and operations within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring significant manufacturing HR leadership experience, expertise in Massachusetts labor laws and employee benefits administration, and a proven ability to support both hourly and salaried workforces. This role will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll administration through Paycom, compliance, workforce planning, training and development, and organizational effectiveness while partnering with leadership to support business growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Lead all HR functions across manufacturing operations, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development. Serve as a strategic partner to executive and plant leadership to align HR initiatives with business and production goals. Oversee compliance with Massachusetts and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, PFML, FMLA, OSHA standards, and anti-discrimination laws. Manage full-cycle employee benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, leave programs, and annual open enrollment. Administer payroll and HRIS operations using Paycom as the primary system for HRIS, payroll processing, time and attendance, reporting, and employee self-service functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Lead employee relations efforts, including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy enforcement. Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures consistent with legal requirements and industry best practices. Oversee performance management systems, succession planning, and leadership development programs. Support manufacturing workforce needs, including multi-shift scheduling, hourly workforce management, and retention strategies. Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve retention, productivity, and workplace culture. Manage compensation planning, salary benchmarking, and incentive programs aligned with manufacturing roles. Partner with safety and operations teams to support OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives. Oversee HR metrics and reporting, providing insights on turnover, attendance, hiring trends, and workforce performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including significant experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments. Extensive knowledge of Massachusetts and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, paid family and medical leave (PFML), earned sick time requirements, anti-discrimination laws, leave administration, and workplace compliance. Proven experience administering employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans (401(k)), leave of absence programs, and wellness initiatives. Strong understanding of benefits compliance requirements, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, and Massachusetts PFML regulations. Experience advising leadership on employee relations matters, policy development, investigations, accommodations, and regulatory compliance within Massachusetts-based operations. Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, OSHA requirements, and workforce compliance. Demonstrated success in talent management, succession planning, employee engagement, and change management. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
