Job Summary:
Job Description The Role:
As a Performance Management Specialist within GM's Global Talent Center of Excellence, you will be part of the team that designs, operationalizes, and continuously improves the enterprise-wide performance frameworks that drive individual, team, and organizational effectiveness. You will partner within the Global Talent COE, across other HR COEs, and amongst other stakeholders to manage performance management processes, systems, enablement, and experiences that align employee contributions to GM's strategy and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Framework Design & Governance Design and maintain the enterprise performance management cycle, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end calibrations, and continuous feedback protocols. Develop differentiated performance support mechanisms that promote understanding and increase utilization of the performance resources and tools available to HR, employees, and leaders. Establish and maintain performance management reporting mechanisms that inform different stakeholders of actions and/or results related to the health of the performance management cycle. Analytics, Technology & Continuous Improvement Leverage Workday and other HCM reporting platforms to optimize performance workflows, reporting dashboards, and calibration tooling. Analyze performance data trends to surface insights for HR and the business to integrate into their operating rhythms. Benchmark external performance practices across the automotive and adjacent high-tech industries; translate insights into actionable program innovations. Lead post-cycle retrospectives and deploy iterative improvements informed by employee, manager, and other stakeholder feedback. Stakeholder Enablement & Change Management Contribute thought leadership and leading practices to HR, employee, and manager capability programs on performance coaching, difficult conversations, among other performance-related topics. Serve as a subject-matter expert and escalation resource for complex performance process, systems, or tools issues that arise in the field. Collaboration and support of global change management and communications strategies for performance program rollouts; ensure cultural localization for regional HR teams. Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Employee Relations, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain cohesive end-to-end solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field. 7+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 4 years dedicated to performance management program design and implementation. Demonstrated experience in a global, matrixed, and/or technology and manufacturing environment; automotive sector experience a plus. Proficiency with HCM platforms (Workday preferred) and advanced data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or Tableau). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority. Working knowledge of employment law, ADA accommodations, and performance documentation best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification Experience implementing continuous performance models (check-ins, real-time feedback) in large-scale organizations (10,000+ employees).
