Operational Human Resources Manager - Industrial & Manufacturing Cianbro United States, Maine, Pittsfield 101 Cianbro Square (Show on map) May 08, 2026 Cianbro Corporation is seeking an Operational HR Manager for its Industrial/Manufacturing Market based out of our Pittsfield, ME office. The Operational Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and executing HR initiatives that directly support the Market's business strategy. This role partners closely with Operations and cross-functional support teams to ensure the company's workforce development needs are met. The Operational HR Manager provides guidance, support, and technical expertise to ensure consistent administration of HR policies and programs, while proactively managing and aligning talent to drive operational performance. This position requires frequent travel to active construction sites, regional facilities, and recruiting or hiring events to support workforce initiatives and operational objectives. The role also provides support to additional business units and markets as organizational needs evolve.
Job Responsibilities:
Retain, develop, and attract top talent to support the organization's long-term success. Oversee all HR activities for the Market. Lead and manage the Market's staffing and recruiting team. Direct hiring, staffing, and retention strategies through personal engagement, collaboration with operational leaders, and partnership with the Talent & Diversity Manager and team. Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. Administer programs related to benefits, compensation, and wellness within the market. Provide ongoing support to field operations in the areas of team member relations, performance evaluations, workforce development, succession planning, and communication strategies. Collaborate across all levels of the organization to align strategy and execution with established policies, procedures, and the company's merit shop philosophy. Conduct timely, thorough investigations of workplace complaints; document findings; and partner with management to ensure resolution in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity and Workplace Harassment policies. Coach and support frontline leaders and market managers on a wide range of human resources topics to strengthen leadership capability and workforce effectiveness.
Qualifications/Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can handle multiple tasks with a high degree of personal integrity, ethics, and attention to detail. In addition, a qualified candidate will possess: Minimum of five years of Human Resources management experience preferred. Proven success leading change management initiatives. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization while providing honest, direct, and constructive feedback. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HR information systems, and related technologies. Strong critical-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated record of sound judgment and accountability. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while remaining flexible, supportive, and adaptable to shifting priorities and responsibilities.
