Human Resources Manager Position Summary The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading all HR functions for a small manufacturing organization, including employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, training, safety support, and culture development. This role partners closely with leadership and supervisors to support business goals while fostering a positive, productive, and compliant work environment. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Culture Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership on HR-related matters Promote a positive workplace culture focused on communication, accountability, engagement, and teamwork Address employee concerns, conduct investigations, and support conflict resolution Coach supervisors and managers on employee performance and leadership practices Lead the culture committee and wellness committee Recruiting & Onboarding Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions Coordinate job postings, interviews, candidate selection, and offer processes Develop onboarding and orientation programs to support successful employee integration Partner with hiring managers on workforce planning and staffing needs Performance Management & Development Administer performance review processes and employee development initiatives Support succession planning and leadership development efforts In partnership with the Training Manager, Identify training needs and coordinate employee training programs Assist managers with corrective action and performance improvement plans Compensation, Benefits & HR Administration Administer employee benefits programs, leave management, and workers' compensation processes Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data Responsible for payroll processes (Paylocity) and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations Assist with compensation reviews and market benchmarking Compliance & Policy Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures Manage HR audits, reporting, and required employment documentation Support OSHA compliance, safety initiatives, and risk management efforts Safety & Manufacturing Support Partner with operations leadership to promote a strong safety culture Lead safety committee, incident investigations, and return-to-work programs Support workforce retention and engagement initiatives within a manufacturing environment Maintain visibility and presence on the production floor ________________________________________ Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within manufacturing Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices Experience supporting hourly manufacturing workforces Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred Experience with multi-shift manufacturing environments Familiarity with safety programs, OSHA compliance, and workers' compensation management Experience partnering with executive leadership teams ________________________________________ Key Competencies Relationship building Servant leadership Business acumen Communication and influence Conflict resolution Organizational skills Adaptability and problem-solving Strategic thinking with hands-on execution
