HR Manager Northwestern Mutual-Twin Cities Mendota Heights, MN Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $75,000 a year 20 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications HR systems (technically supported) Bachelor's degree Full Job Description The Human Resources Manager plays a critical leadership role within the Northwestern Mutual Hellyer Network Office, supporting advisors, staff, and leadership by delivering comprehensive HR, payroll, recruiting, and benefits solutions. This individual partners closely with leadership, operations, and recruiting teams to drive talent strategies, ensure compliance, and deliver a consistent, high-quality employee experience across the network office and district offices.
Responsibilities:
Human Resources Direct interviewing and hiring of quality team members while creating and driving effective hiring strategies to align with organizational goals. Collaborate with the CFO on pay determinations, staff bonus structures, and analyze staffing levels to ensure efficient delivery on business needs. Conduct hiring, compensation, discipline, and termination discussions; oversee the offer letter process and ensure compliance with DOL regulations. Develop and oversee the performance management process, including annual reviews and career development paths for high-potential employees. Manage HR systems, create and update onboarding/offboarding processes, and maintain the employee handbook to enforce proper behavior and code of conduct. Payroll & Benefits Manage network office payroll to ensure timely and accurate compensation for all employees. Oversee and administer all staff benefits, including 401k, group life policies, long-term disability, and medical/dental/vision plans. Handle employee paperwork, benefit enrollments, and annual total rewards statements, ensuring a consistent HR experience across all locations. Collaborate with district office Directors of Operations to maintain uniform HR support and process 401k contributions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 3-8 years of experience in human resources, accounting, finance, payroll, and/or recruiting Strong knowledge of payroll processes, compensation structures, and benefits administration Understanding of employment laws and regulations, including DOL compliance Experience with HRIS, payroll platforms, ATS, and financial reporting tools Proven ability to partner with senior leadership in a consultative capacity
