SENIOR CODING AND COVERAGE PROGRAM MANAGER
What you'll do. The Senior Coding and Coverage Program Manager plays a key role in advancing the organization's payer strategy and influencing coverage and payment policy that affects neurologic care nationwide. This role helps position AAN as a trusted resource for payers across the U.S., while leading neurology coding initiatives and developing valuable member resources related to coverage, coding, and reimbursement. The position also represents AAN at the AMA CPT Editorial Panel and the ICD-10 Coordination & Maintenance Committee, helping shape important decisions that impact the field. What we look for.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Health Policy, Communications or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in heavily deadline-oriented publications environment, working across multiple media platform types Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience; AAN employees may substitute requirement with 3 years leading program teams, project teams, and/or team lead experience Demonstrated ability to uphold the AAN's values Demonstrated ability to supervise a team in a fast-paced environment and nurture individual career development and growth In-depth understanding of online/Web journal-hosting platforms (e.g. - Atypon or similar) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Attention to detail Designations such as Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP) or Health Insurance Association (HIA) or Fellow, Health Insurance Advanced Studies (FHIAS), Certified Professional Code (CPC) is preferred Experience reviewing insurance coverage policies is preferred Demonstrated knowledge of physician payment and coding systems (e.g., CPT codes and coverage policies) is preferred Relevant education and/or experience exceeding the required qualifications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Minimal travel required - up to 5%
