Job Description

As our Human Resources Manager you'll join a growing vertically integrated cannabis multi state operator overseeing retail and production/manufacturing functions. This is a hands-on manager role where you'll lead full-cycle HR for the organization: build scalable policies, own recruiting and onboarding, manage benefits and payroll coordination, handle employee relations and performance programs, ensure compliance with cannabis‑specific and state employment regulations, and partner closely with leadership to evolve our culture and development programs. If you want autonomy, visible impact, to work with a marquee brand in the cannabis vertical, and to help professionalize HR at a fast-moving company, this role is for you. Salary $120000
  • $135000 USD per year Required Skills
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 3+ years HR experience with at least 1-2 years in a people-manager role (startups or small teams preferred).
  • Direct experience working in the cannabis industry or another highly regulated sector (state labor/compliance familiarity).
  • Proven track record hiring across functions (full‑cycle recruitment, interviewing, offer negotiation).
  • Strong employee relations and conflict resolution skills; ability to handle sensitive/confidential situations with discretion.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, benefits regulations, and cannabis workplace considerations.
  • Experience managing benefits administration and coordinating payroll/Vendor relationships (Gusto/ADP or similar).
  • Competence with
HRIS/ATS
platforms and HR recordkeeping best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement HR policies, employee handbook, onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and ability to influence at all levels. Desired Skills
  • SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP, PHR/SPHR or equivalent HR certification.
  • Experience with multistate compliance for cannabis employers and/or working across multiple state regulatory environments.
  • Background in employer branding, recruitment marketing, or executing executive search assignments.
  • Experience implementing performance management, learning & development, and career progression frameworks.
  • Strong HR analytics skills and comfort with Excel or reporting tools to track people metrics.
  • Familiarity with compensation benchmarking and building competitive pay structures.
  • Prior work in a recruiting/talent agency or staffing firm.
  • Experience building DEI programs and inclusive hiring practices.
