This includes strategic planning in areas such as workforce development, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee engagement, and legal compliance. The HR Manager ensures the alignment of the HR strategy with the overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts, ensure proper onboarding processes, and maintain a diverse, qualified workforce.
  • Develop and maintain performance evaluation systems that support individual and team growth that align with the company's goals.
  • Address and resolve employee conflicts, promote a positive workplace culture, and manage investigations or disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Design competitive compensation structures and administer employee benefits programs to attract and retain top talent. Oversee benefits platforms to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all HR policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local employment laws. Update and maintain withholding tax and unemployment tax accounts in 25 states, ensuring quarterly and annual filings are complete. Maintain, update and audit workers compensation policy and coverage.
  • Establish employee training programs to foster professional development and succession planning. Lead regular training for managers and personnel for internal company processes. Offer one-on-one support to personnel with additional training needs.
  • Oversee company travel program. Manage budget relating to company travel of technicians and management staff. Maintain corporate partnerships and travel partner software. Resolve matters of concern that arise during employee travel.
  • Oversee and process multi-state weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, SCA and DBA, withholdings taxes, unemployment, and weekly reconciliation with accounting.
  • Lead HR's involvement in organizational changes, including mergers, acquisitions, or internal restructuring. Lead and coordinate training for management staff and personnel for organizational changes.
  • Ensure that workplace health and safety standards are met and maintained, especially in areas related to employee well-being.
  • Maintain, manage and update company
HRIS/ERP
system. Offer troubleshooting and training support to managers and employees. Familiarity with Paylocity, Employee Navigator, and Unanet GOVCON preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
  • PHR or SHRM Certification preferred
Experience:
  • 5 plus years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role required.
  • 2-3 years of Payroll experience required, SCA and DBA wage experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
  • GSA travel regulation experience preferred.
  • Federal Contracting experience preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and compliance.
  • Proficiency in HR software and data analytics, specifically Paylocity and Unanet GOVCON
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate with compassion and professionalism.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues.
Security clearance:
  • Secret Clearance preferred or the ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional office environment, with occasional attendance of conferences, recruitment events, or work functions.
