Job Description

Join a team of HR professionals who assist 1,000 agency staff for a non-profit based in Garden City, NY. Life's WORC has a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and a true sense of responsibility to each other. This is a full time, salaried position supporting HR Administration and Employee Relations. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong HR expertise, exceptional communication abilities and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. 3+ years of HR experience, preferably with exposure to employee relations and performance management. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Experience with HR systems (UKG preferred) and Microsoft Office. A self-starter who enjoys learning, takes ownership, and is looking to grow into a broader HR leadership role. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including : Support employee relations matters, investigations, and performance management initiatives. Manage unemployment claims, hearings, and employee separation documentation. Oversee performance evaluation processes and employee development workflows. Analyze HR data, track key metrics, conduct audits, and identify trends. Assist with HR compliance initiatives and policy administration. Facilitate new employee orientation and support manager training programs. Serve as a trusted resource to employees and leaders while helping drive engagement and retention efforts. The Assistant Director ensures compliance with HR policies and processes, supports employee relations activities, and assists in the coordination of employee events and training programs. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate records, providing guidance on HR-related matters, and working closely with management to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
