Job Description

Legacy Hauling is a newly established trucking and logistics company focused on delivering high-quality dispatch and administrative support services. In addition to managing our own fleet, we partner with other trucking companies to provide outsourced solutions, including dispatch, human resources, office administration, billing, and accounting. Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Manager to oversee and execute core HR functions. The ideal candidate will bring prior HR experience and a proactive approach to managing payroll, employee benefits, compliance, and onboarding processes. This role requires someone who is confident taking ownership of processes, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment. In addition to HR responsibilities, this position will also support general office operations as needed. Key Responsibilities Review and validate weekly time and mileage reports to ensure accuracy prior to payroll processing Process payroll for approximately 100 employees across four entities, maintaining accuracy and timeliness Track and maintain payroll data, compiling reports and summaries to support annual reviews and provide management with clear insights into labor costs Administer employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement enrollments, deductions, and annual renewals Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all required documentation is completed, accurate, and properly maintained Maintain compliance with all HR policies, procedures, and documentation, including employee handbook requirements, safety programs, and harassment prevention policies Coordinate and monitor required compliance trainings (e.g., MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and sexual harassment prevention) to ensure all requirements are met Manage compliance with New York State requirements, including prevailing wage and certified payroll, ensuring all required documentation is accurately prepared and submitted in a timely manner Stay informed of and ensure compliance with evolving labor laws and regulations, including wage and hour requirements Provide general administrative support to the office, including answering phones and assisting with accounts payable and receivable as needed Qualifications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional, approachable demeanor with the ability to support employees and leadership Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing regulations Prior experience in human resources or office administration preferred Compensation & Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Pay varies based on experience Why Join Legacy Hauling?
