Job Description

The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters. Works directly with Benefits Broker to coordinate, maintain, and design benefits programs. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance. Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters. (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.) Communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of wage and salary program. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.(i.e. wage increases, disciplines, PIP's) Recommends, evaluates and participates in training and development for the company. Maintains a human resource system that meets company personnel information needs. Supervises the staff of the human resource department. SHRM certification is a plus (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR or PHR) Oversees company training program and grant programs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department. Oversees the activities of direct reports. Work onsite a minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday thru Friday. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Conduct presentations in front of the entire employee population. Move around freely on the shop floor and walk up and down steps and between buildings on the campus. 4-year degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment. Pay is based on experience and competency.
