Tulsa, OK Job Details Full-time $55,000 - $62,000 a year 15 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Pension plan Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Job Summary Coordinates and implements Human Resources functions for Tulsa Area Command including recruitment and interviewing of new employees, employee relations, disciplinary actions, administration of personnel records, promotions, transfers, terminations, health care and life insurance benefits, worker's compensation claims, and pension plan matters. Monitors and enforces personnel policies and procedures. Compiles, submits, and maintains appropriate records for Divisional and Territorial Headquarters including records requiring Division Finance Board approval. Prepares and processes payroll records. Administrative and Financial (55%) Coordinates a recruitment program and works to maintain a superior work force at Area Command through job posting, advertising, interviewing, reference verification, testing, and new employee orientation. Ensures compliance with standard recruiting and replacement practices and procedures. Advises hiring managers regarding all phases of the hiring process to ensure compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Processes employee applications for all Tulsa area employees, including E-Verify system. Provides information and guidance to all Area Command employees regarding personnel policies, objectives, employee relations, safety procedures, and employee and health benefits. Updates employees on changes in personnel policies and insurance benefits. Plans, prepares, updates and monitors personnel records. Inputs data and generates various personnel reports and lists. Submits appropriate forms to Divisional Headquarters for Divisional Finance Board approval. Maintains copies of all documents in transit until originals are returned for each employee's permanent file. Safeguards the security and confidentiality of personal/private information on employee personnel except where duty requires communication with a superior officer. Refrains from premature unauthorized release of restricted information. Protects interests of employees and The Army in accordance with The Salvation Army policies and governmental laws and regulations. Monitors and ensures completion of annual evaluations by supervisors and department heads. Notifies employees of increases and works with the Area Commander, when requested, on the budget as it relates to pay increases for the fiscal year. Updates and monitors Area Command approved Driver List. Submits update to Divisional and Territorial Headquarters when appropriate. Establishes/maintains I9 system for all current/terminated employees in compliance with I9 rules/ regulations. Updates and submits to Area Command Finance Department information on enrollments, terminations, and changes regarding Area Command's billing statement for The Salvation Army Health Plan for DHQ. Ensures employment verifications are conducted within Salvation Army policies and procedures. Completes Workers Compensation First Report of Injury when injuries occur and submits to insurance company. Maintains files of same. Completes property, liability and automobile insurance claims and submits to insurance company. Organizes and participates in an Employee Recognition Committee that recognizes and awards employees with programs for Employee of the Month, Years of Service, Farewells, etc. Ensures the Area Commander is informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives, and those which are not being addressed by line management, particularly in personnel matters. Provide birthdates of new employees to person responsible for updating birthday list/monthly birthday recognition. Supervision (25%) Supervises the hiring and termination of seasonal employees for Area Command Seasonal Programs. Ensures required payroll information is submitted in a timely manner. Supervise Human Resources Assistant and Receptionist. Planning and Development (15%) Plans, directs/monitors all employment history files. Ensures all records are properly organized/maintained. Plans, develops, and monitors attendance tracking system for Area Command. Approves availability of earned leave time (sick, personal business, vacation, etc.) as paid leave is requested. Other Responsibilities (5%) Performs other related work as required Physical Requirements Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief/occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Working Conditions Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or a related field, AND two years experience performing Human Resources duties OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
