- (26002805) As the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Student Affairs at University of Pittsburgh this role is pivotal in supporting our mission to foster a vibrant and inclusive student and staff community.

Manages work schedules and approves timecards. Provides professional development opportunities. Facilitates the planning and developing of initiatives and strategies that support personnel management, employee engagement, and customer service excellence. Sets direction for recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession strategies. Oversees the implementation of HR policies, processes, and strategic practices to maximize human capital development; has working knowledge of federal, state, and local legislation regarding labor standards, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Consults director, senior leadership and institutional management on sensitive and complex matters. Provides insight into a variety of issues that involve applying or adapting new theories, concepts, principles, methods, or practices. Advises on and coordinates organizational and career development programs and establishes and provides training initiatives. Develops and implements diversity and inclusive wellbeing & inclusion excellence initiatives in support of employees. Physical Effort Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
