$85,000•105,000 About the Role A mission-driven behavioral health nonprofit serving children and families in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced Employee Relations & Compliance Manager to join its People & Culture team. This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a purpose-led environment and brings deep expertise in employee relations, employment law compliance, and HRIS management. What You'll Do Employee Relations Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employee relations matters, including complex and sensitive workplace concerns Conduct thorough, well-documented ER reviews with timely, equitable outcomes Coach and advise managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and corrective action Apply a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens to employee engagement and workplace problem-solving Compliance & Risk Management Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment laws Manage leaves of absence including FMLA, CFRA, and PDL, as well as workers' compensation processes Maintain and update HR policies and support internal and external audits Ensure consistent, accurate HR documentation practices HRIS & Data Management Serve as the primary UKG administrator, maintaining data accuracy and system integrity Manage employee data, workflows, and reporting; partner closely with Payroll Generate and analyze People & Culture metrics; identify process improvement opportunities Organizational Partnership Partner with leadership to strengthen employee experience and engagement Support onboarding and offboarding processes Collaborate cross-functionally on HR initiatives and organizational projects What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required; Master's preferred 5+ years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations and compliance Demonstrated experience managing complex ER cases and California leave administration Experience with HRIS platforms; UKG strongly preferred Strong working knowledge of California employment law Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:
