Street Level is hiring a Human Resources Manager in Pasadena, CA. Position Summary The Human Resources Manager will be an integral member of the firm's operations and management team helping foster the firm's growth. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Talent Acquisition team, leading employee onboarding, administering benefits, leading compliance, managing employee relations, supporting the payroll team, assisting with policy development, and fostering a firmwide culture and values. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience as an HR Manager, expertise in the latest HR policies and procedures, a track record in talent acquisition and professional development, and a strong interest in helping build a dynamic team. Highly motivated professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and excel in communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving are a must. Responsibilities:
Oversees the Talent Acquisition Team to attract and retain top talent in a political and public affairs setting. Manages employee onboarding and orientation programs to integrate new hires efficiently and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Oversee and administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and providing employee support on plan options. Administers and tracks leaves of absence, including FMLA/CFRA/PDL, STD, LTD, and other applicable leave programs , ensuring compliance and timely communication. Manages employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven work environment. Partners with supervisors on performance management procedures, offering coaching and guidance to enhance team effectiveness. Develops, implements, and oversees employee training and development programs focused on professional growth, leadership, and industry-specific skills. Implements and oversees HR policies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within a politically engaged workforce. Monitors and remains current on evolving HR laws and compliance requirements, particularly those affecting political and advocacy organizations. Utilizes ADP Workforce Now and Bamboo HR to manage payroll, benefits administration, and HR compliance tracking. Supports crisis management and rapid response HR strategies in high-pressure political campaign environments. Oversees workplace safety, occupational health, and security compliance, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations. Maintains records of personnel-related data in both digital and physical formats, ensuring compliance with legal and ISO documentation requirements. Ensures adherence to employment laws and industry regulations by monitoring legislative changes, enforcing compliance, and advising leadership on necessary policy updates. Maintains confidentiality and discretion while handling sensitive political and personnel matters. Qualifications:
5+ years of HR management experience, preferably in a political, advocacy, or consulting environment. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or equivalent Professional HR certifications such as SPHR, PHRca, or SHRM-CP is required. Expertise with HRIS programs with experience using ADP Workforce NowandBamboo HR preferred. Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance, including evolving labor regulations in 2026. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with employees at all levels. Experience in conflict resolution, performance management, and fostering a positive organizational culture. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with shifting priorities. Proficiency in MS Office, G Suite, and HR software systems including Bamboo HR and ADP Workforce Now. Proven ability to uphold confidentiality and manage sensitive employee and organizational matters. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred. Must be able to have predictable and reliable attendance. Compensation Street Level's compensation package consists of three components: 1) a base salary, 2) performance bonus, and 3) firm-wide profit sharing. The pay scale for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 . An HR Manager who meets or exceeds performance goals can earn up to $150,000 annually .
