This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the full HR function—from employee relations to compliance—and wants to play a key role in supporting a professional services environment. You'll work closely with leadership to help shape HR strategy, support staff and attorneys, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the firm.

  • You do not have experience in a law firm or similar professional services environment Your background is primarily contract, temporary, freelance, or job hopping You are not able to commute to Hackensack, NJ (this role is not accessible by public transportation) What You'll Be Doing Oversee day-to-day HR operations across the firm Partner with leadership on policies, procedures, and HR strategy Manage recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts Handle employee relations, performance issues, and conflict resolution Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws Support compensation, benefits, and performance evaluations Oversee administrative staff and ensure staffing needs are met Work closely with leadership on reporting, planning, and HR initiatives What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience) Prior law firm experience strongly preferred SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR is a plus At least 4+ years of progressive HR experience in a professional services environment Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and compliance Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
