This position is a project position with a year-to-year contract (expected duration through September 30, 2027). Continuation is dependent upon annual renewal of project funding. The hybrid work schedule is Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm on campus, Fridays remote. The hybrid schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the college. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise work-study staff to include establishing schedules, facilitating training, creating training aides, and processing time and leave reporting. Oversee personnel decisions involving student employees. Recommend hiring, dismissal, disciplinary action, and position allocation as related to student employees. Monitor and collaborate with other staff for front-end support. Conduct check-ins and audits related to WES processes, application outreach, and student inquiries. Maintain WES office supply/equipment inventory and process orders for new supplies/equipment as needed. Maintain WES Office Bookings calendars and collaborate with WES staff for office coverage needs. Support the Director of WES with monitoring WES program budgets, including work-study related budgets, goods and services, and travel. Monitor payroll reports and collaborate with Business Services on time and effort reporting. Serve as the Digital Accessibility Compliance subject matter expert to ensure WES programs' marketing and advertising are readily accessible and within standards. Participate in WES and Student Affairs meetings. Perform related duties as required. QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas: Associates degree or equivalent related work experience. One (1) year of experience working with academically, culturally, and economically diverse student populations. Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience that shows the ability to supervise, guide, and mentor staff. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience interpreting and applying policies, rules and regulations, working within grant guidelines to determine program eligibility and to ensure compliance.JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds. Ability to supervise, guide, and mentor staff. Ability to effectively build and maintain a strong relationship with a variety of diverse people and providing excellent customer service that consistently meets or exceeds the needs of students, colleagues, and the public. Ability to effectively coordinate activities, services, and schedules to ensure smooth and efficient operation of work, with a strong attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills for effectively engaging diverse groups and individuals. The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation. This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association.
