We're seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader to serve as our Workforce Business Engagement Manager, a working manager who combines strategic vision with practical, on-the-ground action. In this role, you'll lead a dedicated team, forge partnerships with businesses, and directly mentor apprentices and job seekers. You'll play a key part in connecting talent to opportunity, helping individuals and businesses thrive in today's high-skill, high-demand industries. Employ Prince George's is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents and supporting the growth of our community. Scope of Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the apprenticeship and business services, ensuring training, coaching, and compliance. Serve as a mentor and coach, providing one-on-one guidance, removing barriers to success, and celebrating achievements. Recruit, select, and onboard new apprentices and job seekers for in-demand roles. Build and sustain strong relationships with businesses, educational institutions, and workforce partners. Attend targeted community and business events to promote economic development opportunities. Managing the outcomes of talent matching that meet evolving business partners' needs. Lead industry-specific partnerships in pathways that align with business needs and labor market trends. Oversight and coordination of 30-70 apprentices throughout the full program life cycle. Champion the success of apprentices and share program impact stories with partners and stakeholders. Proactively build and maintain relationships with business partners to identify hiring needs and business gaps. Brings a flexible mindset and digital fluency to manage tasks across diverse technology ecosystems. Delivers results through strategic prioritization and resourceful problem-solving. Selection Criteria Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field preferred Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree. 5+ years of experience in workforce services or a related field. 5+ years of business development or client engagement experience in various high-demand industries. 3+ years of people management experience leading diverse teams and fostering inclusive, collaborative environments. Previous registered apprenticeship program experience. Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, and presentation, with the ability to connect across generations and backgrounds. Thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.NOTE:
