Job Summary:
The North Americas (NA) HR Manager is responsible for delivering high‑quality, compliant, people‑focused HR support across four sites in the U.S. and
Canada:
Kent (WA), California, Florida, and Ontario. Operating as a hands‑on, confident HR Generalist, this role provides guidance to local site leaders and employees on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, benefits administration (excluding payroll), and compliance with U.S. federal, state, and Canadian provincial employment legislation. Based in Kent, NA, the HR Manager partners closely with the Senior HR Manager and the wider Global HR Team, including sites in the UK. The role is ideal for an ambitious HR professional seeking to broaden their experience within a growing global organization. Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Generalist HR support across the U.S and Canada Provide day‑to‑day HR support to managers and employees at the Seattle, California, Florida, and Ontario sites. Ensure compliance with relevant U.S. federal, state, and Canadian employment laws, advising managers on local legislative requirements. Manage employee relations issues from initial consultation to resolution, escalating complex matters to the Senior HR Manager when needed. Support the consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and company values across all sites. Employee Lifecycle Management Oversee recruitment processes for U.S. and Canadian positions, partnering with managers to define requirements and drive high‑quality hiring decisions. Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth and compliant employee experience. Manage performance-related processes, including coaching managers on goal‑setting, feedback, development, and performance improvement plans. Support benefits administration (excluding payroll), including enrollment, employee queries, and vendor liaison where required. HR Operations & Compliance Maintain accurate and compliant HR records, documentation, and systems in line with U.S. and Canadian legal requirements. Prepare HR reports, metrics, and insights for the Senior HR Manager and business leaders. Participate in audits, policy reviews, and compliance checks across sites. Assist with workforce planning and organizational changes, including restructures, role design, and documentation. Culture, Engagement & Development Champion a positive, inclusive culture that promotes employee engagement and high performance. Support the coordination and delivery of employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and DEI activities. Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers to build people‑leadership capability. Global HR Collaboration Work as part of the Global HR Team to support cross‑regional HR processes, policies, and initiatives. In time, provide HR support for UK sites as required, gaining experience in international HR practices. Contribute to global projects such as HR process harmonization, talent initiatives, and system improvements.
Position Requirements:
Experience & Skills Strong, hands‑on HR generalist capability across ER, recruitment, performance management, and HR operations. Demonstrated ability to advise managers on complex people matters with minimal legal risk. Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment legislation. Working knowledge of Canadian employment law (ideally Ontario). Experience working in a multi‑site or multi‑state organization. Exposure to HR within a global company or experience supporting international sites. Experience working with HRIS platforms or supporting HR systems improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years' experience in an HR Generalist role, supporting U.S. employment matters. SHRM‑CP or SHRM‑SCP (or equivalent HR certification in the U.S.). Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, Sharepoint.
Travel:
Travel will be required to the California, Florida, and Ontario sites. Periodic travel to the UK may be required in the future to support the Global HR activities.
