Job Description

FOCUS is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to help cultivate a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace. This role supports all aspects of the employee experience-from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance-while partnering with leadership to advance our commitment to serving the community. Help foster a positive workplace culture while supporting the people who make our mission possible! Human Resources or other relevant professional experience preferred. Duties and Responsibilities Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with program managers to understand requirements for job openings Develop and implement innovative recruitment and retention strategies to attract, engage, and retain high-quality talent Conduct background checks and employment eligibility verifications Conduct new employee onboarding and orientation Coordinate open enrollments, and changes for employee benefits programs Maintain employee personnel records within ADP Support employees/Review and resolve grievances Work collaboratively with the other program directors/managers in the agency which directly interact with these job duties Administer worker's compensation, unemployment requests, verification of employment, etc. Ensure compliance with COBRA and FMLA requirements Assist with maintaining agency policies and procedures Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. Have a general knowledge of all FOCUS programs Assist with credentialing Nurture a positive work environment and provide guidance on team building Manage marketing/ social media and content creation Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives/improvements Foster a positive and engaging work environment by developing team-building initiatives and employee engagement activities Coordinate meaningful employee recognition strategies to celebrate milestones, successes, and birthdays Other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications include: Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures Creative Data management experience preferred Aptitude in problem-solving Excellent communication and people skills Strong ethics and reliability Organized Collaborative style Detailed oriented Able to prioritize tasks Working conditions Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Physical requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as copy machine, computer, etc. Frequently communicates with others in person and on the phone
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
