This role would play a pivotal role in union relations and organizational strategy, directly influencing outcomes in grievance mitigation, contract negotiations, and employee engagement.

Partner with leadership to advise on employee relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and supporting grievance processes. Serve as a key liaison with union representatives, participating in negotiations and contract administration. Maintain and oversee leave management functions and accommodation requests. Develop and deliver training and guidance to leaders on best practices in employee and labor relations.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of a formal degree. Minimum of five years of experience in human resources or a related field, with exposure to labor relations. Experience with union environments, including collective bargaining and negotiations (preferred). Strong understanding of employment laws and ability to interpret legal and policy documents. High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications. HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, orSHRM-SCP
) preferred.Physical Requirement:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, perform light physical activity, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. ENVIRONMENTThe South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. This role operates primarily in a professional office setting, with occasional travel between locations, supporting a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare environment. The position requires regular interaction with leadership, employees, and union representatives, often involving sensitive or high-stakes discussions.
