Job Description

JOB TITLE
RC3 Counselor / Human Resources Student Liaison
REPORTS TO
Coordinator of Riverchase Career Connection Center
JOB GOAL
To maintain the integrity of a simulated workplace by having an employee on-site who manages student "employee" records, attendance, and performance data (grades), leads employment-related activities such as mock hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and workplace training, and manages student enrollment, scheduling, work performance, grade reporting functions and addressing student employee misconduct, while serving as a liaison between students, staff, parents, and partner schools
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet applicable federal and state certification/qualification requirements for the position Master's degree in School Counseling required Instructional Leadership Certification preferred Proficiency in oral and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups Ability to use technology to communicate, to plan and provide instruction, to facilitate student learning, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information Ability to meet suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457 Such Alternatives to the above qualifications as state, federal, and local law, and the Board may require
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities Manages and maintains student "employee" records, including attendance, performance evaluations, and simulated payroll Develops and implements simulated workplace policies that align with mock labor laws and ethical workplace practices Facilitates simulated hiring processes, including job postings, resume screenings, interviews, onboarding, and orientation Conducts mock professional development sessions covering topics such as communication, professionalism, and conflict resolution Supports student career readiness through resume writing, interview preparation, and coaching Assists with simulated employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, mediation, and disciplinary actions, fairly and consistently, which includes communication with base schools Maintains confidentiality of all student "employee" records and sensitive information Remains current on workforce trends and applies them to enhance the realism of the simulated environment Collaborates with department managers (teachers) to understand classroom staffing/student production needs and address student performance concerns Manages attendance systems, inputs data, and tracks attendance excuses Provides accurate weekly attendance updates to base schools and administrators Leads efforts in enrolling students into appropriate academies and courses Manages student schedule changes and waitlists efficiently Oversees grade collection and ensures timely grade entry and reporting by teachers Distributes grades and progress updates to students, families, and base schools as required Participates actively in recruitment initiatives, including tours, presentations, and visits to base schools Coordinates and leads tours for visiting groups, school staff, and stakeholders to showcase academy offerings Communicates effectively with advocates (parents, guardians, coaches, industry partners) regarding student progress and engagement Works closely with teaching staff and administration to support student success and school operations Uses and maintains confidential information in accordance with state and federal law and local Board policy Practices safe, responsible, legal, and ethical use of technology following the Hoover City Schools' Acceptable Use Agreement .Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system Adheres to local Board policies, administrative procedures, and other like directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws Performs additional job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s) This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
