Under the supervision of the Director of Health Services, the Prevention Recovery Coordinator will provide support for all Prevention Recovery Education Program (PREP) services as outlined in the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP). The incumbent will design and deliver district-wide prevention efforts focusing on preventing youth drug use, addressing family trauma related to substance abuse, and mitigating the impacts of the opioid epidemic on students and families. The Prevention Recovery Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of outreach and prevention efforts, which may include alcohol and drug programming, harm reduction, peer recovery while addressing associated stigma as part of a comprehensive health promotion program. The Prevention Recovery Coordinator cannot function in any SRP capacity.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver evidence-based prevention programs addressing opioids, substance use, trauma, and mental health. Partner with educators to integrate prevention strategies. Provide educational programming on opioid misuse, bullying, teen dating violence, trauma, and health risks. Work closely with School Resource Officers (SROs), School Nurses, Counselors, Administrators, and Social Workers to provide comprehensive responses for youth affected by drug use and/or trauma. Assist in non-enforcement roles during overdose investigations. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as required. Provide confidential, individualized meetings with students to offer guidance, support, and resources. Support students through all phases of recovery and wellness. Serve as a mentor, advocate, and motivator for students. Assist students in developing individualized Prevention Recovery Plans. Maintain strict confidentiality and mandatory reporting compliance. Host meetings to assist students who are in recovery. Coordinate aftercare services with school administration. Connect students and families to community resources. Work with the Regional Prevention Provider to administer the Arkansas Prevention Needs Assessment (APNA) each program year. Track and document services, challenges, and outcomes using ARORP-approved systems. Submit all required reports and data on schedule. Participate in program evaluations and sustainability planning to support the district's requirement to participate in APNA continued funding compliance. Develop an Opioid Misuse Prevention Coalition within the school community. Coordinate outreach events, training, surveys, and community conversations. Build partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and recovery groups. Perform other tasks/duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
The Prevention Recovery Coordinator must meet all ARORP eligibility requirements and must be an Arkansas Certified Core Level Peer Recovery Specialist or higher or be an Arkansas Associate Preventionist or higher.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related human service field is strongly preferred with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Must successfully complete the Arkansas Prevention Recovery Training within six (6) months of employment. Must maintain their respective prevention and/or recovery certifications. Must attend mandatory 2-week PREP training in Little Rock on July 20-24 and July 27-31, 2026.COMMUNICATION SKILLS
This position requires a high level of collaboration with FPS staff, community stakeholders, families and students. Must be a team player and able to resolve differences quickly and professionally.CRITICAL SKILLS
Outstanding organizational and coordination skills required. Must be able to function effectively under minimal supervision. Pay Range 41 or 42 (Based on Education)Position Type:
